Ulster University, legally the University of Ulster, is a multi-campus public university located in Northern Ireland. It is often referred to informally and unofficially as Ulster, or by the abbreviation UU. The university has its origins in the New University of Ulster, which was founded in 1968. It became a university in 1984. The university is known for its focus on professional and vocational education, with a wide range of courses in subjects such as business, engineering, and health and social care.
